P90X Anniversary

Happy Anniversary to me! I can't believe its been a whole year since P90X came into my life...

One year later I can happily say I feel great, healthy, and strong. I am not doing the program full-time but do about 2-4 workouts a week (depending on how much running I do).
I still love kenpo. It is my go-to workout when I am having a hard time staying motivated.

I love that I can workout for an hour and maintain my good results. I love that it gets easier as I go on, and that I can do more advanced moves.

What I don't love... are my "big guns". I am all for having toned arms but I do feel like the workouts built up my upper body a little more than I would like. I don't love that I still can't do some of the moves!

Conclusion: I am glad that I did it, for sure, and would recommend it 100% to anyone. It is an amazing program that works well, and anyone can do it if they stay dedicated!

Put Me in the Zoo

One of our favorite books is "Put Me in the Zoo", and I am constantly thinking of what the poor animals think of my crazy hooligan children from behind the fences...

We brought our own horde and enjoyed seeing our favorite animals. The LA zoo is a fair admission price but was worth it to me to see the variety of creatures and great exhibits. We didn't even see all of it.
The big kid of the bunch: occasionally leading others astray, but mostly a good guy

We had tons of fun!

Vices

Jared and I had an interesting discussion today about our vices. I feel like I try to do the things I know are good and right for me to do, but every once in a while there are those indulgences that add a little variety. It usually ends up that I need some sort of boost after a long couple of days (make that hours, sometimes!), or a reward for good behavior that I allow myself.

The big huge bummer (I use that word way too much) about vices is the inevitable downside.

I love shopping, but then comes the price tags; I love cooking and eating sweets, but that equals time working out and working harder at it; I love reading design blogs but then I feel bored with my house and lust for more... Is there anything out there that doesn't make me vain, fat, or jealous?!

Can't I just enjoy running or reading stories to my kids just as much? Isn't there something that can make me smarter, more fit, or a better person while simultaneously filling that need for a pick-me-up?

Are there any vices out there that don't have so many drawbacks?

Local Entertainment

We had so much finally going to Travel Town! I had been wanting to go there for months and it was a blast. The kids were running around like chickens with their heads cut off but they were having tons of fun with all their buddies.

(not pictured- Jersey and Macy)

We have been counting down the days until this movie comes out... We've been counting since January. Needless to say, there's a whole lotta hype. It had better be good :)

CA Adventure has full-size Mater and Lightning McQueen, in case we weren't excited enough already for the movie.

We have been trying to get in as much Disneyland time as possible before our passes are "blacked out" for the summer. We love going with our fellow blonde-haired toddler friends, commonly mistakening them all (minus Ryker) for triplets.
The boys, plus Princess Jersey, absolutely love Disneyland. Moms like it a bit too :) It seems like the more we go the fewer tantrums we have and the more prepared we are for the day.

Yesterday we got to see the new parade, Soundsational, with our friends Jordan, Eden and baby McKay. Nicholas is already in love with Eden, and they enjoyed holding hands and hugging.

What a fun week. Everyone has been asking about our plans, and I can report that we have none right now! Jared has been applying and interviewing but nothing has come up yet that we are interested in. We feel very blessed to live in such a great place and I am not in too much of a rush to get out of here, especially during the summer. Any news we have will be shared :)
