October Fun

Despite my blogging absence for the month of october, we had a great month.

We were very happy to be together for Halloween this year, especially considering last year Jared missed most all of the holiday and we were in a temporary living situation.  I am constantly grateful that we are here now and can be settled (at least for a little while).

Last year we didn't carve pumpkins, so we were happy to do that this year.  The boys loved it until they reached the gross "pumpkin guts", and Dad had to take over.

We were so happy to do Trunk-or-Treat at the church the weekend before the holiday, and hang out with some friends.

The boys were Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader (big surprise) and loved their costumes.  We went around a beautiful neighborhood with friends and loved their super creepy and awesome house.

Good Friends

Lately I've reflected on how truly blessed I am to have had such wonderful friends. I began thinking on this subject while I visited with a dear friend, Dyan, two weeks ago.

(don't be mad I posted this!!)

I haven't always been lucky enough to have really good friends. It takes time to form strong bonds and memories, and that wasn't something I had while we moved so often. I have been so glad to have made such fantastic friends, and have really been grateful for new friends in a new place that have helped me to feel comfortable and loved.

I haven't been much of a girl's girl, but I have grown to love having girlfriends! I have learned so much from all of you. {If I made of all of you I might get carpel tunnel :)} I truly appreciate being around such wonderful examples of kindness, love, honesty, generosity, and most of all fun.

You all inspire me to be better and kinder. I am so lucky to have you all!!!

Kiki found an awesome pint-sized babysitter while we were in Arizona

She carried him around like a doll, bathed him, built legos with him, and read him stories. He loved it.

We wish we lived closer to Cassidy! It was so fun to have someone watch that kid, and enjoy it too.
