If No News is Good News...

Here's the good news and the bad news. Which do you want first?

I'm a bad news first kind of person...

Bad news: Jared is going to be working and living somewhere without us :( . Big bummer is that the project lasts only 2 months so its not worth it to move with him until we're sure that it turns into a permanent position. Aaaand we have to figure out where in the heck the poor guy will live for 2 months!

Good news: Jared has another project lined up, and this time its in LA! Yay! We are looking forward to going to see him and visit all our favorite places. One perk of being away from Jared is that he will be super busy with work so he will have plenty of time to focus. Also, he is not too far, so we will be able to visit relatively easy on weekends. Its going to be a crazy time but the job is good and we're hoping the future prospects are even better. He starts at the beginning of next month so I will spent the next few weeks trying to get sick of him.

Did I mention I'm starting my Anthro job soon too?

Run, Jared, Run!

Jared completed his first ever half-marathon this month! It held more meaning for him than a typical marathon because it was one his Grandfather used to run every year. He began running in his thirties, and started jogging during his lunch breaks wearing only his work clothes and shoes. He went on to become a fantastic marathon runner, placing and winning at many famous marathons, including, but not limited to, the St. George and Boston Marathon.

J ran all along the coast on a beautiful morning (not that he noticed). If you're going to run anywhere, why not along the beach, right?

We created our own little cheering section, and ran in to the finish line all together.

We were so proud that he ran the whole thing! He was, understandably, very tired and sweaty at the end, but perked up when we went to Cafe Rio to celebrate. He finished in just over 2 hrs, which was his goal.

(a video of us fans)

He doesn't talk much about doing another one, but we might just be doing this same one together next year! (rambling: I don't have much of a desire to do a full marathon. It can be so boring just running for hours on end. Plus it seems like so many people have done these days it that its not really that much of an accomplishment anymore.)

Good News for Jared

After all the applications and 1 1/2 yrs living with parents we are going to be moving on!! Jared was accepted to ASU for his MHA program. Granted, it doesn't start til August but I am all geeked up to be moving.

(You might be thinking, wait, when is this baby due? Umm, yeah... August. Its going to be a fun month)
We are very proud of all his hard work. Its fun to be on the accepting end, and, as Jared said, "Its weird to see "Congratulations" written first."

Our first choice is still Minnesota (no word yet, but brrrrrr!) but we are also looking forward to Az as I have family there and, well, I need a tan.
