Same old

The little guy is growing so much!! We're really enjoying this interactive phase, and we love seeing him smile.

For the most part things are continuing as usual. We had a fun superbowl weekend with lots of snacks and were able to see our newlywed friends Josh and Sara Fosson. It has been nice to have a quiet day though, and to get some alone time with the baby.

You'd think the baby recovery would be over by now, but Nooooooooo. (Just so you know, I hate complaining because I'm sure lots of people have it much worse and I am being a whiner). I went shopping yesterday, which I have done in the mean time but for some reason I was just annoyed with this particular trip. At one point I was in the dressing room, crammed with the baby in a cart and Jared (who we met for lunch). I had to go to the bathroom (I had forgotten before I left the house), the baby was crying and had a stinky diaper, the size I usually wear was too small, and Jared, rather than comforting his distraught wife kept saying, "I gotta go back to work." I felt like crying, but no tears can come. I hate crying. Lovely day.

Well I just resolved I am never going to wear cute clothes ever ever ever, and there's simply no point. I'm just at home all day, and I have no friends!

Well Baby's crying... gotta run!

Baby baby baby

Unfortunately I haven't been able to successfully download another cute video :(

Nicholas is continuing to do very well, and last night woke up only once for a feeding and slept until 7:30 am. What a wonderful baby! It makes all the difference for me when he sleeps so well. He is also still smiling a lot, and making cute noises to make it harder for his grandma to go back to work. I'm just glad I am blessed enough that I can stay home with him and don't have to miss a minute of him!

Our baby is getting big!

Baby is learning to talk a bit... Isn't he cute?

Four weeks tomorrow- and nearly a month!

Time has taken on an interesting role once again as fragmented sleep plagues my nights, and attempts at accomplishing anything preoccupy me during the day. Nicholas has pretty much settled into 4 hour feedings at night and, blessed child, goes back to sleep right after, allowing me 2 1/2-3 hours of sleep at a time. I can survive on it, but lets just say my head doesn't exactly jump off the pillow at 8am. Ever.

My body seems to be adjusting really well, and I think its to the credit of my healthy pregnancy. What a blessing! I can't imagine taking care of the baby full-time while having to recover physically. I'm also beginning to get my old body back, with a few new changes. I'm not used to having any sort of bust, or a tummy either! Oh well, its totally worth it :)

We are finally starting to make public appearances as well. Baby went to church for sacrament meeting on sunday to hear Grandma give a talk and for the debut of his cute church outfit. He did quite well considering it was his usual fussy time, but he did manage to make one piercing squawk to alert everyone that he was there.

What a great new year!! We're so glad to have a healthy, happy baby, and to spend another year together in marriage :) We have much to be grateful for, and to anticipate in this next year, whatever it may bring.
