Not a baby, not yet a big boy....

With all the focus turning to our move and new addition this august, a bit (ok, maybe only a tiny fraction) of attention has shifted away from poor Nicholas. In the last few months he has become quite the funny, energetic little boy. Some days I just marvel at how much he has learned and changed as he transitions away from being my baby to my little boy. I sometimes am sad to think he has to grow up so fast, but am confident he will make a wonderful big brother.

Ooooh yeah...

Just when you thought being pregnant couldn't get any more attractive, along came The maternity belt!

(aww, give me a break... at least get a cute model wearing one!)

(DO NOT EVEN mention the similiarity in our hairstyles/color/skin color... I will kill you!)

That's right friends, stalkers, and frenemies who read my blog for some unknown reason, I have purchased my own maternity support belt! It cost me dearly (so not in the budget right now; whatever) but I couldn't stand the pain anymore. I'm not sure if this baby is in a different position from Nicholas, or whether it is common for a second pregnancy, but my belly has been literally aching as it grows. The sensation is akin to having your skin stretched daily to its limits, as if a small person were rapidly growing inside my stomach ....(wait a second...)

Well, at least if I ever work at a Walmart in the pallet zones I wont have to take the cost of a support belt out of my paychecks........

No pictures on this one... sorry. Want to know how huge I am? Take me before, then hide a basketball under my shirt... And make my rear end bigger. Got a visual? Good, that's me right now. Remember, I have brown hair with bangs too.

This period of time is lovingly termed "the calm before the storm". I occupy my time with mondane internet window shopping and trips to the park while waiting for the baby to grow and for it to become august when we can move. Fortunately time has been fairly kind to us, by passing a bit more quickly. Nicholas keeps me as busy as ever running around getting into things and climbing on tables, chairs, etc. I'm beginning to reach the point of discomfort where bending over to pick up toys for the zillionth time sends me to the couch for an hour.

Jared's been working some serious OT (that's "Over-Time", for all you ignoramuses), and then returning home only to ignore me for Kobe Bryant, his first love. True, he was around before I was, but still, we do have a child together after all. Oh well, when Sims 3 gets here next week I'll return the favor...

That's it for now, folks. We'll see if I can't muster up enough energy to take a photo next week... No promises though!

Beating the Heat

I know weather is generally regarded as an untouchable, sleep-inducing subject, but it has to be noted that a heat wave has come through. We are apparently being given a crash-course in surviving Arizona-like levels of heat.

[Lucky for me, this is also coinciding with construction on our street {and my pregnancy}, so I get to park down the block and walk... just a bitter sidenote]

Our generally pleasant spring has been replaced by record highs, forcing us to retreat into our homes for fear of sunburns (have you seen my boys? can you say "Aryan"!). Last weekend we had enough and set up the baby pool for Nikko and his Dad (a bit too chilly for Mom to really play).

please make no comments on our pigment... we're working on it (hence my killer farmers tan)

I hope summer is finding you all, wherever you are.... and likewise torturing you with it's deadly heat....

Have a good one!
