Happy Birthday to Paige.

This will now be the 5th birthday that I’ve spent with Paige and boy how the time flies. When we were dating I was actually home in California for the summer during Paige's B-day while Paige was still in Utah so I drove to Utah to surprise her for her birthday. I don’t remember what we did for 3 days but just remember spending EVERY waking minute with her. On the drive home from that trip I remember thinking that I knew that one day I would marry her (we had been dating for 2 months at that point). A few times over those days we both wanted to say those 3 scary words to each other; I LOVE YOU, but if any of you know Paige well you know she would have freaked out saying those words. She may have been thinking it but if she said the words it would totally send her into a tail spin (even when we did say I love you for the first time later, Paige was weird for about a week as she tried to process the gravity of the situation)

Paige’s favorite holiday is easily Christmas but after that her favorite “holiday” would be her birthday. Since her birthday is in the middle of the summer she feels like she can never have a truly great party because people travel in the summer so we can never get all the friends and family we want to come to a party.

Since we live in a digital age I thought it would be fun for EVERYONE to post a comment for Paige’s birthday. (If you have never left a comment before just click comment and you can leave an anonymous one so you don’t have to create an account just make sure to put your name at the end) EVERYONE who reads this post must leave a comment or I will curse your next 6 birthdays! (Paige also loves when people leave comments on the blog so if you want to give a present leave a comment)
Happy Birthday Babe!

The Haps

Unfortunately this post lacks any themes or continuity, but oh well.

I was under the impression that summer would be a relaxing, low-key time for our family, but so far it has proven to be quite the contrary. Jared is gone more often, and we have done many trips and had more visitors. No complaints here, though. It has been pretty fun so far.

The story: Nicholas and Ryker were each given cups of water (if Kiki has some, Rykie wants one too, and visa versa) and Ryker drank his up immediately. Kiki, seeing his brother's cup was empty, poured in half of his water. It was a very tender moment. He has been a really great brother considering how intense his personality can be and his age.

The story: We try to feed Ryker what we eat most of the time, but when it was chili I hesitated because of the mess-factor. Obviously I gave in and let him try it. He loved it so much he pounded down two bowls, and lifted it to his mouth to drink the remains. Disaster ensued on his pants, shirt, and highchair.

The story: We had a fun 4th with some ward buddies. I will admit I am not huge on the 4th of July like some are (ahem, Dyan), but it was nice to get together and socialize. While attempting to take some photos with my boys, an unknown red-headed boy decided he wanted to be adopted in. No way I could handle another little boy, Gaige!!

The story: I attempted to do my workout in the daytime. Kiki did not like this. He kept trying to push his way in and dissuade me by knocking me off balance. That kind of defeats the purpose of yoga. I figured that's why they call it "resistance exercises", right?

P90X- Week 3 Review

Week 3 is in the books! Jared's thoughts of the week:

My thought all along was that as we got familiar with these workouts and the exercises that we were doing that it would gradually become easier...WRONG! I'm still just as sore each day as when we first started. I think that is because at the beginning we couldn't do some of the difficult exercises. Now our form is better (so we can attempt the hard exercises) and we are doing more reps and therefore we are still sore.

Paige is starting to look really good and I think I'm a little less disgusting than when we first started so all in all its a win so far. Its to bad you can't just drop all the belly weight first instead of last!

High point of the week is the encouragement/amazement of my mom. She was visiting for a few days and each time she came in the room and watched us kept remarking "wow, I'm impressed you guys; look at you two go; oh its so cute you do it together." Also this next week is a "rest" week so we do mostly cardio exercises and no heavy lifting..YES!

Low point has to be yoga. We are getting better at it but the workout is over 90 minutes long and gets very repetitive. As I get the hang of the breathing though I'm starting to hate it just a little bit less (seriously just slightly less...we both still detest yoga)

21 days down, 69 to go! 1 more week and then we start Phase 2.
