The Haps

Unfortunately this post lacks any themes or continuity, but oh well.

I was under the impression that summer would be a relaxing, low-key time for our family, but so far it has proven to be quite the contrary. Jared is gone more often, and we have done many trips and had more visitors. No complaints here, though. It has been pretty fun so far.

The story: Nicholas and Ryker were each given cups of water (if Kiki has some, Rykie wants one too, and visa versa) and Ryker drank his up immediately. Kiki, seeing his brother's cup was empty, poured in half of his water. It was a very tender moment. He has been a really great brother considering how intense his personality can be and his age.

The story: We try to feed Ryker what we eat most of the time, but when it was chili I hesitated because of the mess-factor. Obviously I gave in and let him try it. He loved it so much he pounded down two bowls, and lifted it to his mouth to drink the remains. Disaster ensued on his pants, shirt, and highchair.

The story: We had a fun 4th with some ward buddies. I will admit I am not huge on the 4th of July like some are (ahem, Dyan), but it was nice to get together and socialize. While attempting to take some photos with my boys, an unknown red-headed boy decided he wanted to be adopted in. No way I could handle another little boy, Gaige!!

The story: I attempted to do my workout in the daytime. Kiki did not like this. He kept trying to push his way in and dissuade me by knocking me off balance. That kind of defeats the purpose of yoga. I figured that's why they call it "resistance exercises", right?

That picture of Rykie is adorable. It's totally worth the mess. So is the fact that he actually will eat what you do. Eden eats like three things. I think it's karma paying me back for being such a picky eater.

I can totally relate to the picture of you doing yoga. That's been my big excuse for not doing it--the fact that Eden climbs all over me. Now, I'm no hardcore P90X-er, but yesterday I discovered that I can get some exercise on Wii Fit because Eden thinks it's a game (well, let's face it, it is). Still, it's easier than having her climb on top of me.
