I Wanna Be a Supermodel

Nicholas has found his calling in life as a model!

He's perfect for the job:

-He is fussy about what he wears

-He loves Gap clothes

-He has bright blue eyes (the fashion industry loves the Arians)

-He has secure self-esteem

-He's fine with missing (some) meals

-His mother would be extremely supportive of his career

-He is great at posing for his age

This is the photo we submitted... Not our best, but the file size was too large for many of the others

Anyway, this is how the contest works: parents submit photos, and some finalists (20 or so) are chosen for the public vote. Should Nicholas make the finalists- ok, there are 5000+ applicants, but one can dream!- YOU, my friends, will be called on to vote for him!

I recently read a post about kids getting cellphones young these days and how useful and necessary they are, so I thought we'd get in on that too...

Is a Blackberry too much? He is a whole 9-months-old after all.

Jared's 101!

The compromise is I (Paige) have to type it

1. I love Paige's middle name-- Marie (for all you who missed the last post)
2. I need two pillows to sleep comfortably
3. I hate sweating
4. I could eat nothing but chicken
5. If chicken wasn't availible, then cereal
6. In high school I had to read the comics and sports sections every morning before leaving
7. I successfully made the first clone mini-me (hint: my son)
8. I've loved the Lakers since I can remember
9. "The Office" is my favorite show
10. My favorite sports movie is "Remember the Titans"
11. The Bourne trilogy is my favorite too
12. I have asthma
13. It acted up when we were in Austria in a 1000 yr old house
14. My brother-in-law has asmtha too, so his inhaler helped me that night
15. I liked the Boxcar Children books growing up
16. My mom used to put us to bed at 7:30 so it was then I learned to like reading
17. I had a girlfriend in 6th grade I never actually did anything with
18. I never regretted having to take care of my brother with Down Syndrome

Ok, so I kinda stole this idea from other people (ahem, Brittany and Kelly) but I thought it would be fun! I really enjoyed reading their lists and I thought maybe I could try it to! Let me know if ya'll are surprised by anything you read...



101 Things about Paige Marie

(9th grade-holy eyebrows!)

1. My middle name is Marie, and I love it
2. Jared calls me by my middle name, and I love that!
3. Jared and I met at a party at his house
4. I went on a date with his roommate first
5. I never called his roommate back because...
6. I had an only moderately ok time on the date but even more importantly...
7. The guy I had been interested in finally started coming around
8. when #7 left for the summer Jared and I started dating
9. I was always secretly afraid I'd never meet someone and get married
10. I actually went to BYU to have fun, not to get married. Fortunately I did both :)
11. I'm a multi-tasker-- I actually prefer doing many things simultaneously otherwise I get bored
12. I used to be a very high energy person and it bothers me that I am so mellow now
13. I need 8+ hours of sleep to function
14. I put sleep on a higher priority than almost anything, which I think compounds my boring aura
15. I am a highly social person; I go nuts without social interaction and can't understand those who could care less about being around people.
16. I am very excited to move someday, and hope its in the near future
17. I am the official cook of the greater Cordon household... Sabrina hates cooking (reference Brittany's list :) )
18. I am a nut about eating healthy but....
19. People who count calories and talk a big talk about eating healthy DRIVE ME NUTS. Its kind of like religion to me, by all means eat what you want, but you don't have to rub it in my face!
20. I love love love sports! I enjoy doing them the most but I really do like watching too, especially college football...
21. I love BYU football!!!!!!!!!!! I especially love being at the games! When the players run out with the band playing I get major goosebumps every time!

23. At my last BYU football game I cried
24. I have fanatical uncles who are obsessed with BYU sports (ahem Donald, Dallin, Craig!)
25. I am incredibly PRO-LIFE; I have two uncles and three beautiful cousins who were adopted and I can't imagine our family without them. The sacrifice of love and selflessness is incredible from those women who gave them to our loving family.
26. I feel physically sick when I think of things like abortion or other brutalities done to children. It gives me nightmares too.
27. I am scared of ghosts... seriously

29. At 20 wks pregnant with Nicholas we were afraid I had gone into premature labor. It was an awful day at the hospital
30. I was so paranoid something would happen to Nicholas when I was prego
31. With Nicholas I only briefly craved pizza (the real Italian kind- not the greasy American) and Mac and Cheese... mmmm salty!
32. We got to visit my parents when I was 15 wks and we loved it
33. I loved living in Switzerland, and I wish I could have graduated there!
34. We moved my senior year (I know, I know, feel sorry for me please) to New Jersey. I loved our house and made good church friends, but school was rough
35. That same year I cut my hand trying to break into my house. 8 stitches
36. I have also kneed myself in the face doing gymnastics- 13 stitches
37. My ultimate dream is to live by the beach someday
38. I cut my hair short 3 weeks ago but haven't posted any pics. The verdict is still out on whether I like it or not
39. I have super thick hair. Its deceiving from how it looks-- every hair stylist I've seen has been shocked I have such hair, with no ethnic origin
40. Lets talk more hair... I shed like crazy, and since having Nikko its been even worse
41. My hair is naturally curly
42. Only since having it short do I actually let it go curly often
43. This list isn't so hard... maybe I think too much about myself
44. I'm always worried about being selfish. I think that was the one thing my mom always got on me about.
45. I absolutely hate hate hate throwing up. I would rather go out naked in public or give 1,000,000 talks in church
46. I never got vomit-sick with Nicholas!! Lucky me
47. I am not afraid of public speaking
48. I hate my star sign-- Leo: It says I like to be the center of attention and am selfish. I hate that it could be me!
49. I love being a mom but am not as good at it as I had hoped
50. I always wish I had more siblings, but I do like the ones I have :)
51. I want to have 6 kids... And no, it hasn't changed since I had Nicholas and yes, he was a very cranky baby!
52. I went to work a few times since Nikko was born and it wasn't as bad as I thought, but...
53. I think by having a baby you should actually care for it... I am quite opinionated about that: its kind of like the expression "you've made your bed, now you have to lie on it"

56. The misused words "to" and "too" drive me bonkers! Learn how too use them!! Ha ha
57. I also get rather perturbed by the misuse of "their", "there" and "they're, but I can see how their a little more confusing.... Ha ha ok, I'll stop

59. I want to write my life story someday. Sometimes I write it in my head, then kick myself for not writing it down. I swear it'll be good!

62. I get so jealous of those kids going up to BYU for the first time. I wish I could do it all over again!
63. I gained almost 20 lbs my freshman year!
64. I lost it all the summer after laying out and living out of the dorms
65. I was sooo happy to be roomies with my best friend from Switzerland!
66. We almost had a falling out, but I'm glad its better now because she is such a great friend!
67. I used to have a problem of hanging up the phone before people finished. Last summer I realized I got that from my dad who did the same thing to me repeatedly! Needless to say, I learned my lesson when I realized how rude it seemed!
68. I have taught 3 primary classes in the last 1 1/2 years
69. I love Relief Society and therefore loathe missing it just to sit in sharing time and babysit!
70. I know it might seem crazy, but I would love to be a RS President someday. My mom was when I was a tween and she seemed to really enjoy all the work with the sisters
71. I believe I had the perfect childhood!
72. I've never broken a bone :) I do have a knack for injuring myself though

76. I grew later than most girls, and it used to embarrass me a lot. I was always the smallest or 2nd smallest in my class
77. When I was 12 I was almost put on growth hormones because I was very underweight and not growing because...
78. I was scared of food due to a horrible stomach flu
79. I still am scared sometimes!
80. I have a love/hate relationship with chocolate
81. I don't like my brown eyes. I wish they were blue or green

83. I have never smoked! It seems like such a disgusting thing to do. It makes everything yellow and stinky
84. I tend to be somewhat paranoid about money. If I think I am low I will not spend for weeks. Jared wishes this happened more often
85. I think my little brother is amazing. He was the cutest baby and now the funniest little boy
86. I can't let myself get away with anything. I have an overactive guilty conscience

89. I like to think I can be easy going. I think its because of this that Jared and I rarely argue

91. I have always been boy crazy. Even in 1st grade I had boyfriends and played "kiss-tag"; 4th grade I got busted for "spin the bottle" at recess
92. I wish I had a time machine so I could redo high school. My biggest regret: my hair and makeup!
93. In college I got caught holding hands 3 times... By other guys I liked...Oops. I was never smart enough to successfully date more than one at a time!

96. I love fashion (I want to be a Mormon-clothes designer), but when I dress up I feel like I'm trying too hard
