Mmm Mmm Good

We love oatmeal...
and 5 minutes later, he's feeding himself

In addition, the last couple days he turned 6 months, and got a tooth. What a week!

Sob Story

One of the joys of living on a student budget is, well, having to budget. Two adults, two kids, no jobs... you do the math.

I have been bothered with the recent decision between two items that are needed, a phone and a camera. My dilemma is thus:

My phone is dying. It dies daily. I wake up each morning half expecting that the phone will simply have kicked the bucket. I can't live without a phone, especially in the thick of things out in LA. When I got it many eons ago it was the cheapest phone available, and I'm pretty sure it was the last one AT&T ever sold. It was immediately rendered obsolete. I'd kind of like to have a phone that isn't the $25 piece of crap ones, and maybe one that actually takes decent pictures, has some fun functions, etc.

AND

We need a camera. We have a clunker SLR but for obvious reasons, I don't carry it around with me. When we are out and around I regret missing so many adorable photo-worthy moments! I take some pictures on my aforementioned useless phone, but I don't have any way to get the pictures off. Also, the SLR doesn't take digital video (hence the lack of videos on here), and I'd love to be able to do that...

So...

phone?

or

camera?

Junk Food

While the kids are snug and asleep I escape to the comfort of my couch, go to hulu.com, and enjoy a new guilty pleasure... The Bachelor.

Why can't I stop watching this garbage?

The drama between the girls... Oh Ali, lay off the Vienna thing already

The cheesy face-wide grins from Jake, especially when he does it to mask an awkward moment (a.k.a. all his interactions with Michelle)

The outifts the girls choose to wear... oh heck no, Vienna, you do not shop at Wet Seal! And let's just say the Honor Code would have a field day with Gia...

The sappy lines, especially anything with an aviation theme, "cloud nine", "head in the clouds", etc. Not to mention all the creepy, "I'm here for Jake" lines in the beginning. Come on people, falling in love in a week only happens at BYU.

The "oh-no-he-didn't!" moments when Jake chooses the dumbest girls

Seriously, Jake? Tenley is so fake and sweet she gives me cavities, Gia is a big-time skank (you'd never work with a New Yorker, Jake... just watch Jersey Shore and trust me), Ali is the only one who appears semi-normal but she was born with an extra gossip bone (and what normal person wants to go on reality Tv?), and then there's Vienna.... Don't get me started on her. I bet she doesn't even know where Vienna is. She looks like a drag queen, and her hair is so deep-fried it's a fire-hazard. She does the spoiled little girl routine, and apparently he goes for that? Oh man. It makes me wish I was single just so I could go on the show and be a normal person!!

Another thing that bothers me- all the kissing. He kisses everyone! Hello, mono anyone? And how have they all stayed away from the swine flu?

Last week's episode in San Francisco was interesting, to say the least. Trolley ride, Chinatown, Koit Tower? That's not the real SF. Give me the gay bars, smelly piers, bad traffic, and Alcatraz please! Or at least the sea lions, right? Everything looks better on Tv.

I should stop watching, right?

Two For the Price of One

(me at 5 mo with my brother, Matt age 2 1/2)

As much as I love having a Jared mini-me for a son, I really hoped Ryker would be his own person and perhaps maybe a little bit resemble me and look like my child. At times he has looked like his brother's identical twin, but lately has taken on a bit of a different look.
Rykie has darker hair, eyebrows, and lashes. Kiki's lashes and brows have always been blonde.

Kiki has solid blue eyes, and Ryker's are beginning to look hazel. Maybe I will get my brown-eyed boy after all!

(Poor Rykie gets jipped a bit in the new stuff department)
