Jared and I had the opportunity this last weekend to get away! It was awesome, and totally necessary. There definitely were times I though, "We could have brought Nicholas!" but all in all it was quite refreshing to have some time to ourselves-- especially to sleep!
After the beach, we drove to San Jose and crashed at our hotel there. In a few short hours we crammed in 5 episodes of the show, "Friday Night Lights", that we are currently interested in.
After a good night sleep (waking up at nearly 9 am!) we went off to the Big Basin Redwoods National Park. It was a good drive, but worth the gas money. It was so beautiful and peaceful there, and the hike was pretty easy but also very fun. It is unfortunate its so far from us (almost 2 hrs.), but we would like to try and go back again! We took some fun pictures, but mostly enjoyed the quiet, largely undisturbed, nature around us.

I'm so glad you guys were able to get away! You are so lucky to have family around to allow you to do that. That place looks really pretty and those trees are amazing! I started a blog but I can't figure out how to add people or invite people to my blog, lol. I will figure it out one of these days and add you:)
Aww.. so nice! I wonder if I'd ever get to get away. That seems like such a far-fetched idea for me. Maybe when I'm 80. :)
im jealous! Chris and I havent even been away for a night since Kayden was born.
Fun! We loved camping and visiting the redwood trees when we lived in California. That's great that you got to get away for a few days the two of you.
We miss you guys. Nicholas is soooo cute and getting so big.
