We are so happy to have been able to campaign for Prop 8 this last while. I have been pleasantly surprised at how kind and receptive people have been to us, and our prayer is that it passes!
Proposition 8 in a nutshell will enact the creation of a consititutional amendment for California that says "marriage is between a man and a woman". Why is this so important now? Well in recent years a similiar initiative had passed which was overturned by the CA Supreme Court. Whatever happened to democracy? Now we have the chance to change permanently to what the people really wanted in the first place.
We personally believe this is important for our children and the educational system. The ad's would have people believe this is about discrimination, but that is absolutely 100% untrue. The Domestic Partnership Act of 2003 grants the rights for the couples most paramount in the areas of legal rights, insurances, and health rights. Prop 8 will not affect this act.
Today we were quite the poster children for the campaign- Me, Jared, and Nicholas going from one house to the next with the door-hangers. If you are a resident in the state, please vote YES on 8, and restore the sanctity of marriage... Those of you who live elsewhere, contact your CA friends!

Sarah Palin and John McCain both support Prop 8. As is typical, Senator Obama has waffled. In the Saddleback Christian forum this year he said, "I believe that marriage is the union between a man and a woman. Now, for me as a Christian, it's also a sacred union." But then he later apparently opposed Prop 8. Who is this guy we're about to elect as president?
